ABA Masthead Reports

Crossmedia Figures You Can Trust

The ABA Masthead reports show crossmedia figures for audited titles, displaying audience and circulation numbers for each media channel including Print, Websites, Digital Editions, Email Newsletters and Exhibitions.

The ABA Masthead reports show digital audience figures in the same online directory as ABC/CAB print circulation figures.

Since launching these reports in February 2010, there are already numerous titles available with Masthead Reports.

How Do I Search For Websites and Categories?

The ABA Masthead Reports enable you to search by:

  1. Masthead Title (Website or Publication name)
  2. General Category (e.g. Business, Entertainment, News etc)
  3. Keywords (including Publisher Name, Audience Type, Content Type or Media Type)

Search by Masthead Title

To search for a publication or website by title, type the name into the [Title] searchbox. For example, typing in 'australian' displays a list of titles matching the same name.

Search by Category

To search for a publication or website by Category, select the category from the drop-down list to filter the results. These categories reflect the broad categories used in standard Print and Online media reports. For more granular sorting use the Keyword search in combination with the Category reporting.

Search by Keyword

Each Masthead also has a number of Keywords or tags associated with it to enable more flexible search and comparison between mastheads.

Keyword examples include:

Publisher Name. e.g.
  • Fairfax Media
  • CBS Interactive
  • Cumberland Newspapers
Audience/Content Type, e.g.
  • Finance Professionals
  • Geek Culture
  • Mens Interest
Media Type, e.g.
  • Street Press
  • Community Newspapers
  • Magazines

To search by Keyword type into the [Keyword] box and select from the list of keywords available to display only mastheads that match that keyword.

Search by Category and Keyword

The search functions can be combined to filter the list of titles by both Category and Keyword. For example you can search for Business and Finance titles that target "finance professionals" which will filter out sites that have general business consumer news or personal wealth content.
